Oregon State Park visitors might soon see a rise in parking pass prices, but they’ll have a chance to weigh in before any changes are made.

Oregon Parks and Recreation has proposed increasing parking permit fees for the first time since 2019. Under the new proposal, a single-day parking permit would increase from $5 to a range of $7-15. The cost of a 12-month permit would rise from $30 to between $40 and $60, while a 24-month permit would jump from $50 to $60-80.

“Proposed rules will establish rate ranges for day-use parking permits, similar to those for campsites and other park facilities,” said park officials.

The public is invited to submit comments online until 5 p.m. on August 30. Additionally, the department will hold three public hearings to garner input.

If approved, the new pricing will take effect on January 1.
